When I first introduced my Photography Mail Club, I wanted to create something tactile, something to create from. A way to bring photography beyond the screen and into the physical world.

From March to September, I explored different themes, created images, put together packages, wrote letters and sent pieces of my creativity through the post. Each month gave me a new opportunity to play and to think about what photography could look like outside of a traditional lens.

There were themes that came easily, and others that made me question what I wanted to create. There were moments where I felt excited and also moments where I overthought things,

 

This is one of the biggest things I've taken away from this project.

You don't always have to know exactly what something is going to become before you start.

 

Lenses & Letters gave me the opportunity to make things simply because I wanted them to exist. To explore ideas that might not have had a place anywhere else. To create for the sake of creating.

 

I'm so grateful to everyone who subscribed, received a package, and supported from the sidelines. You gave this project a life.

Thank you for allowing me to share a piece of my world with you.

 

Lenses & Letters may have come to a close, but I don't think the desire to create things for the physical world is going anywhere.
